The University of Sierra Leone is a publicly funded and managed university in Sierra Leone that was founded in the mid-2000s. The university is located in located in the nation's capital Freetown. The University of Sierra Leone is one of the nation's contemporary universities and is also one of its top universities locally and internationally. The university offers full time undergraduate degrees in several fields of study bordering on science and social sciences, some of which include the faculty of pure and applied science, the faculty of arts and several others. The university is also a research university and it makes use of modern and more effective teaching approaches when teaching her students.
