Students learn and are trained on different methods and approaches that can be employed in teaching chemistry in secondary schools. Students learn different aspects of chemistry like redox reactions, organic and inorganic chemistry etc.

It is important for individuals who intend to study this course to have a solid foundation in chemistry from secondary school. They are also taught about lesson note structure etc. It is a Four year bachelor's degree program and graduates of this course could have career opportunities such as Chemistry teachers etc.

To be Admitted into this course Aspirants are expected to take English Language, eithe of Mathematics/Physics and Chemistry in the annual UTME examination, They are also expected to have a 5 credit pass in WAEC/NECO with subjects including Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
