Papua New Guinea University of technology is a publicly funded and managed university located in Lae, Papua New Guinea. Lae, is among the top largest cities in the country, the capital of a province in Papua New Guinea and also moderately populated. The university was established in 1965 and has since been committed to be raising innovative and entrepreneurial graduates. It trains her students with necessary knowledgebase both theory and practical in order to solve challenges and be useful in the workforce for the betterment of society.

Papua New Guinea University of technology is a basic four year university that offers both undergraduate and postgraduate academic programs in several fields. These fields include Engineering, Sciences, Social Sciences, agriculture and Business management. The university has a small student body and relatively diverse. It is a co-educational institution and welcomes students from different parts of the country and the world (it accepts international students). The university has no religious affiliation and has affordable tuition going for about K7,500 to about K10,000 (as at the time of these writing).

Accommodation facilities are also provided by the university alongside good road network and electricity supply.
