University of Papua New Guinea is a publicly funded and manage university that was established in the 1960s, the university was established in 1966 in the largest city in the country Port Moresby. Having being registered and accredited by the nation's educational bodies as a full time four year university offering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in several fields of study.

The university being the first in the nation since its inceptions has been committed to providing quality education to her students and leading in pioneer research for the improvement of the nation and the world.
