Mai-Idris Alooma Polytechnic is a state polytechnic located in Yobe State North east Nigeria. The Polytechnic is funded and managed by the state government of Yobe. The
institution was founded in 1993 Damaturu, the state capital. Mai-Idris Alooma Polytechnic school fees is cheap being a state funded polytechnic compared to other Nigerian
Polytechnics and it goes for about N50,000, the student body isn't to diverse predominantly because of the location of the school.
However, the polytechnic admits students irrespective of their backgrounds. Mai-Idris Alooma Polytechnic courses are full time in fields cutting across Engineering, Science & Technology, Arts, Management and Social Sciences.
