Universidade Óscar Ribas is an Angolan university, located in North West Angola, along with a number of other private universities in the country, it was established in the year 2007 as a privately funded and managed university. The university is committed to her objective of training her students with excellent resources and methods to make them experts in their various fields of study which are predominantly in the fields of science and technology. The university is committed to improving the standard of education in Algeria and increasing the amount of youth that are skilled and relevant in several industries in the Angolan work force. The university is a full time four year university that has no religious affiliation and runs a per semester academic calendar.
