Université de Yaoundé

University of Yaounde is one of Cameroons leading universities which was established in the early 1960s and is located in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The university is a public university and is funded and managed by the nation's government, the university is committed to the distribution of knowledge and quality education within its immediate society and the world. The University of Yaounde serves multiple roles in the country, it raises the standard of education in the country by promoting academic excellence amongst it student and it also helps the nation economically by ensuring students are well trained to be skilled manpower who can contribute to national development. The university is also involved in a lot of research and collaborations with several universities and industries in the country to find creative solution to problems through research. It has about three faculties offering full time undergraduate and postgraduate academic degrees in sciences and social sciences. The university runs a per semester academic calendar and is a coeducational university like most, it has no religious affiliation and it has a medium sized community. University of Yaounde has a relatively healthy student to staff ratio that is still good for optimal learning of the students in their various fields. The university admits both national and international students irrespective of socio-cultural background and has a quite competitive admission process as a lot of students want to study here. The university if Yaounde is great for learning with all the necessary facilities, like labs, library etc. tuition is not expensive.
