Université du Burundi, is a publicly funded and managed university that was established in the 1960s, the university is located in Bujumbura, which is the town of one of the largest cities in the country. The University of Burundi is one of the nation's leading universities providing excellent education trained and resource to her students in their various fields of study. The university is on a mission to be one of the top universities in the world committed to the distribution of knowledge within her immediate environment and the world. The university is involved with different level of research and has struck a number of collaborating deals as a result of her interest in research. The University of Burundi has a medium sized student population with less than 20,000 students as at the time of this writing, the university also has a decent amount of staff, which consists of seasoned professionals. The university runs on a per semester academic calendar and is a coeducational university, it also has no affiliation to any religious or socio-cultural background this will encourage a well diverse student body. The university admits both local and international students and they go through her very diverse admissions selection process. University of Burundi is a full time university that offers undergraduate and post graduate academic programs in her different faculties, some of those faculties Faculty of sciences, Medical school, and faculty of engineering science and several others. The university has about 8 faculties in total. University of Burundi was one of the best campus facilities in the nation with all the necessary facilities students need to make the most of their academic stay. The university, adequate facilities like health center, library, and good road network amongst others are provided for in the university campus. The university tuition is also not very expensive.
