University of Otago is a public university located in Dunedi, New Zealand. It was establishment in 1869 has been funded and managed by the government. The university is a research driven institution taking the lead ground breaking research for the benefit of the nation and the world, It is known for excellence in everything it does; in implementation of projects in creating well refined graduates with the necessary practical and theoretical knowledge to serve as skilled man power in the nation, it is one of the leading universities in the nation and it is among the top 300 of 1,000 world class universities.

The university has no religious affiliation and welcomes students from different parts of the country irrespective of their religious or socio-cultural backgrounds. University of Otago has a large student body with over twenty thousand students. This student body is also very diverse based on several parameters. It is a four year college which admits both local and international students. The University is a coeducational institution with a good student staff ratio.
